As a 52-year-old, I have to do 50 consecutive pushups; men below 50 have to do 75.

Thanks for writing about the 100 push-up program, once my shoulder is healed, I will give it a try. I injured my shoulders a long time ago while attempting (and failing) to learn how to high jump in high school. My shoulders dislocate easily and push ups have always been uncomfortable. I am just going to do my best.Michelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04317845403611730397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5657543360198531381.post-54552385064713811862008-08-21T21:57:00.000-04:002008-08-21T21:57:00.000-04:00Okay, I'm game. I know that for my second Dan test, I WILL have to do pushups...maybe not 100, but if I can easily knock out the 36-40 I'm expected to do, I'll be pleased.
I wonder if the pushups are the "guy" variety or the "girl" variety?Meghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00095519209440543184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5657543360198531381.post-86023926759512819592008-08-20T17:42:00.000-04:002008-08-20T17:42:00.000-04:00Interesting. I have a lot of trouble going down to nose-hovering-above-ground position, not because of muscle strength, but because my elbow pops and hurts. I wonder if working up more systematically from the modified pushups (where my elbow doesn't pop), might help that out?Perpetual Beginnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09625596315528064536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5657543360198531381.post-26993616993811504412008-08-20T10:44:00.000-04:002008-08-20T10:44:00.000-04:00Ah, so you're on a quest for push-ups.
