When I got to a new school in the US when I was 21, I absolutely got drilled over and over again. I learned my lessons quickly and started to do fairly well. But there were big gaps in my knowledge that took me absolutely years to figure out. One of which was 'basic' techniques done well. Everyone can do a basic punch. I could do a basic punch and make it look 'sharp'. But until I got myself in front of a makiwara or striking post I had no idea what I was really doing. Now after 29 years of practice, I have seen how one simple change of perception can result in a significant increase in striking power - without the need to increase muscle mass. It's all about technique! Yes, there is absolutely loads of advance stuff training required for basic techniques to work!

Cheers,
Colin

Come join my Anti-bully Blogging Carnival
http://www.joongdokwan.com/2011/05/now-on-twitter.htmlColin Weehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01777513509370303056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5657543360198531381.post-60154920213237883402012-03-09T13:50:46.076-05:002012-03-09T13:50:46.076-05:00Thank you for the welcome!
